IMMUNIZATIONS>

Vaccinations protect our pets from infectious diseases and are necessary to insure their good health. Puppies and kittens need a series of vaccinations to protect them, followed by yearly boosters.

CANINES>

FELINES>

We offer immunizations against the following diseases:

Distempera serious and usually fatal disease of the respiratory, intestinal and nervous systems

Parainfluenza a respiratory virus, also called “kennel cough”

Parvovirus a serious and often fatal intestinal virus

Adenovirusa respiratory infection

Rabiesa fatal viral disease of the nervous system

NOTE: the first four are usually combined into one vaccination called a “distemper combo.”

We also will vaccinate against Bordatella (a bacterial infection that causes kennel cough) when requested, and Lymes (a tick-born illness) as the doctor deems necessary.

We offer immunizations against the following diseases:

Feline Viral Rhinotrocheitisa respiratory disease in the herpes family

Calicia viral respiratory disease

Panleukopeniaa usually fatal viral disease of the intestinal tract

Chlamydiaan infection of the respiratory system and eyes

Rabiesa fatal viral disease of the nervous system

NOTE: the first four are usually combined into one vaccination.

The doctor may also advise you to have your cat immunized against Feline Leukemia (a virus that leads to immune system suppression and anemia; it increases the susceptibiility to other infections and cancer) or Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) a fatal viral disease affecting blood vessels and the nervous system.

Any immunization carries a mild risk of side effects, including lethargy, shivering, shaking, vomiting and injection-site swelling. However, the benefits of immunizing your pet far outweigh the risks. Also, see our Titers Testing Service Page.
